Privacy Policy

This explains what BhamaPages stores about you and your documents, and how you can remove it.

What we store

• Pages you save. The Markdown text, its title, whether it is private or open to anyone with the link, and when it was created and last changed. Text you type or paste but never save stays in your browser and is not sent to us.
• Your Google account. Saving requires signing in with Google. Firebase Authentication then holds your Google account ID, email address and name, and we use the ID to know which pages are yours. We receive no password.
• A temporary anonymous ID. Before you sign in, the site creates an anonymous ID with no name or email so it can accept abuse reports. It owns no documents.
• Reports. If you report a page, we store the page ID, the reason, any details you type (up to 1,000 characters) and your anonymous ID.

What stays in your browser

Your unsaved drafts, the list of your saved pages, and preferences such as theme and layout are kept in your browser’s local storage. They never leave your device unless you save a page. Clearing site data removes them.

What we do not do

• We do not show advertising and we do not sell your data.
• Private pages cannot be opened by other people through the service.
• We do not use analytics or advertising cookies.

Who else handles data

BhamaPages stores its data with Google’s Firebase platform (Authentication and Firestore), which processes it on our behalf. The website itself is delivered by a web host, and, like any web host, it and Google keep ordinary access logs, such as IP addresses and request times. To protect the service from abuse we may use Firebase App Check with Google reCAPTCHA, which examines browser and device signals to tell people from automated scripts; reCAPTCHA is subject to Google’s privacy policy and terms.

Pages shared by link

A page you share as “Anyone with the link” can be read by anyone who has its link. It is not listed anywhere and search engines are asked not to index it, but we cannot control who you or others share the link with. Make a page private again, or delete it, to stop access.

Your choices

• Delete any page from the sidebar. It is removed from our database and its link stops working.
• Download a page, or use “Export all” to take everything with you.
• Sign out, or clear your browser’s site data, to remove what this browser holds.
• Ask for your account data to be removed using the contact route below.

Children

The service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
